Seiko 6105-8110

There’s not much more I can say about the 6105-8110 that I haven’t said already, but it’s always worth featuring one if I have the time! This example from March 1974 came in for a service recently.

This must be one of the later horseshoe type caseback designs on the 6105-8110, they changed to a plain affair around about May 1974, possibly slightly later. I know by August the plainer casebacks were in production..

The movement looks very presentable, not too dirty just dry oils.

Once cleaned and inspected nothing untoward was found so it was ready for reassembly.

Also of note is this is very late to have chamfered bridges, usually they were plain by this time. I don’t know if the fact that this is a Daini produced movement has any bearing on the chamfers, it needs more investigation I think!

Dial and hands refitted here.

Cased back up.

6105-8110

Ready for a few more years of service!
